Dr. Lynne Kellner

My practice is geared towards children ages 10 and up,  adolescents and young adults,  and adult populations.

Within these age groups,  I work with individuals, parents, families and couples who are coping with anxiety and stress, anger problems, depression,  school and relationship problems,  family and marital conflicts, ADHD,  eating disorders,  self-injury and/or  substance use.  I work to help guide the individual towards positive change through a recognition of maladaptive patterns of behavior,  goal-setting,  coping strategies and finding balance and perspective in one’s life.  I help the individual to become unstuck in terms of how they deal with obstacles,  and help them make better choices that are empowering and foster self-esteem and growth.

Using a therapeutic approach that is warm, supportive,  collaborative and nonjudgmental,  I am trained in both short term and long term treatment,  depending on the treatment goals. Having skills in a variety of clinical techniques,  I am able to tailor the treatment to the unique needs of the person.  I use psycho-dynamic, cognitive behavioral strategies , dialectical behavior skills (DBT) and mindfulness skills.

I have a style that is down-to-earth and practical, and have a strong ability to build alliances with even those who are hard to reach.  I enjoy working collaboratively with parents and offer parenting skills and advice to help build more satisfying relationships.
